Facilities Technician Developmental Program (Fixed-Term Contract) (English)

  • Associate's degree, trade school certification, other verifiable training in a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Ability to communicate in English fluently to understand and execute instruction and learn via training documentations and presentations.
  • Ability to work non-standard hours and differing rotations.
  • Live within 50 miles proximity of Lincoln, NE.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with using Google Workspace or similar applications.
  • Experience in building a career in data center operations.
  • Knowledge of working with HVAC, electrical or mechanical systems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Ability to complete tasks on time with a dedicated work ethic.

About the job

As part of the Data Center team, Facilities Technicians operate, monitor and support physical facilities conditions that house our global computing infrastructure for Google products and services. Some of these duties will include heating and cooling of air, water, power supply, generators, UPS systems, electrical distribution and control and monitoring systems.

As a participant of the Facilities Technician Developmental Program, you will learn the technical skill sets required to progress in your role and engage in community contributions to improve and sustain our culture and operations.

This is a 6 month Fixed-Term Contract (FTC) position.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $67,000-$94,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, maintain, and repair various data center systems such as piping and mechanical system components.
  • Perform maintenance and repair tasks and identify problems to address routine issues by following prescribed procedures under supervision of executive technicians.
  • Use a defined approach to complete subtasks under direct, day-to-day guidance from a manager or executive team members, and exchange information within your own team or functional area when relevant to the task.
  • Complete theoretical modules of the program.
  • Impact the work group via personal accuracy, timeliness, and quality of work, and ask questions around data center operations, maintenance, processes, and procedures.
