Group Product Manager, SmartNIC Host Networking

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
  • 5 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch.
  • Experience developing/launching infrastructure products/technologies within networking, storage, compute hardware, databases, file systems, data analytics, cluster management, and other software infrastructure areas.
  • Experience with SmartNIC technology.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in storage, compute, networking, performance computing, or tools and infrastructure management.
  • Experience with scale-up and scale-out solutions for ML Platforms using High Performance Networking solutions such as Infiniband, RoCE, NVLINK, etc.
  • Knowledge of the concepts and architectures of large-scale data center networking, Linux networking, PCIe, Ethernet, x86 and Arm server platforms.
  • Understanding of server system design, server management (BMC), and Linux kernel (BIOS, device drivers).

The SmartNIC Host Networking Product Manager (PM) leader would define, lead and align others on a strategic product roadmap, product definition and life-cycle ownership for Google’s SmartNIC host networking infrastructure. In this role, you will bring PA-centric customer focus to engineering teams, driving alignment across all the teams involved with SmartNIC roadmaps ensuring and prioritizing the highest impact activities across Google Product Areas (PAs)/Cloud. Focus on enabling our internal Google customers to deliver high impact products and services on-time to their end customers meeting end-users needs with reliability, security and manageability while maintaining Google’s overall efficiency goals.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $214,000-$305,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Partner with internal customers and engineering leads to define the long-term strategy and roadmap for SmartNICs at Google, aligning with company goals.
  • Collaborate with Google's networking, compute, storage, security, operations and deployments teams as well as Google internal PAs to identify high-impact capabilities and facilitate the product development life-cycle, ensuring Time to Market (TTM), quality, feasibility, and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Work closely with engineering to represent the customer and define detailed requirements and performance needs captured in Product Requirement Documents(PRDs).
  • Define key success metrics and track progress throughout the program. Analyze results, identify areas of improvement, and communicate insights to stakeholders.
  • Develop an understanding of different segments of Google Host Networking infrastructure and align hardware and software roadmaps with strategic business objectives and customer needs.
