AppDev Head Manager (English, Chinese)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 11 years of experience in advertising, consultative sales, mobile app, or internet, or 8 years of experience with an advanced degree.
  • Ability to communicate in English and Chinese fluently, to support the Greater China clients and stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience dealing with C-level customers and driving sales through relationships in the Greater China market.
  • Experience in bringing internal thought leadership, influencing cross-functional/cross-region stakeholders and executives and scaling sales/product/process innovations beyond current markets.
  • Experience in people management and working with key stakeholders in multiple countries.
  • Strong communication and people skills coupled with experience in technology, media sales or cross-channel media planning.
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Track record of managing and inspiring high performing sales teams of more than 10 staff.

The Mobile App Sales team has big ambitions and global reach. You will engage deeply with sophisticated mobile-first businesses, exceed growth goals, and drive change to accelerate Google’s position in the fast-growing and strategic business of app install. You will be part of a team dedicated to helping mobile application developers grow their business using Google products and services.

As a manager for the Greater China (GRCN) AppDev Head program, you'll lead and coach high-performing business development teams that use consultative sales skills to understand our advertisers' needs and deliver measurable solutions that grow their businesses. You will also work with the sales leadership team to set strategic objectives and run the day-to-day operations for the business. Sales managers willingly help their teams and partner directly with clients to provide comprehensive service.

In this role, you will create strategic growth opportunities and cultivate relationships with key clients. You will partner closely with AppDev’s global leadership team, external industry bodies as well as stakeholders within the wider Google organization to accelerate our position in the fast growing and strategic app/gaming business. You will also bring strong internal cross-functional/cross-region thought leadership to scale sales/product innovations. You will on-board, lead and coach a client-facing team. You will implement a coaching culture and must be capable of developing sales specific behaviors throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, inspire and motivate a team of client-facing and high-performing Googlers. Build a team structure, recognize leadership potential and support career development through enhancing capabilities within the team.
  • Engage with senior internal cross-functional/cross-region stakeholders and executives to bring GRCN thought leadership and scale sales/product/process innovation. Provide coaching on engaging with stakeholders in GRCN AppDev clients.
  • Assess the needs of our customers and gather user feedback to improve upon existing solutions. Design and iterate workflows and operational plans for large-scale ideas.
  • Execute projects involving quantitative analysis, industry research and strategic development. Work closely with cross-functional teams to align on the global Google Customer Solutions (GCS) Sales priorities.
  • Ensure team readiness to deliver complex solutions and create a culture of sales innovation and customer success on the team.
