Technical Program Manager, Pixel Partner Engineering

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related software engineering field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of experience in program management.
  • 1 year of experience managing projects in partner facing roles.
  • Experience working with mobile technologies or software hardware integration (operating systems, applications, frameworks or devices).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in an engineering or a related technical field.
  • 2 years of experience working with cellular carriers on carrier certifications.
  • Experience with Carrier certification/PTCRB/GCF certification.
  • Experience in programming (e.g., Java, C, Bash, Python).
  • Understanding of Mobile and cellular radio technologies and features (e.g., 5G, 4G, VoWiFi, VoLTE, VoNR, Satellite, antenna design).
  • Understanding of Android and its architecture.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with internal and external stakeholders for Pixel phones in any technical matter.
  • Draw out the product Unique Selling Propositions (USPs) with partners and drive technical readiness for successful product launches.
  • Analyze new network features and gather operator requirements, to provide guidance and feedback to engineering and product managers.
  • Support and drive the carrier and industry approvals of wireless devices.
  • Report project status, prioritize tasks, analyse issues and logs, drive them to resolution/completion together with the hardware and software engineering team.
