Developer Relations Engineer, Android and Play, Games (Korean)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience in shipped console/PC or mobile games.
  • Experience in working with game engines such as Unity or Unreal.
  • Experience in developing games and performance for Android/iOS platforms.
  • Ability to communicate in Korean fluently.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in technical leadership, technical consulting, or working with partners/customers/developers community.
  • Experience with low level rendering pipelines such as OpenGL/Metal/Vulkan/DirectX/WebGL and GLSL or SwiftShader.
  • Experience in presenting to large technical audiences.
  • Excellent public speaking skills.

About the job

In this role, you will focus on driving Android ecosystem success by making it easier and more valuable for developers to build high-quality and responsible apps across all Android devices. You will manage technical relationships with developers and provide engineering support and guidance, accelerate adoption of Android or Google Play features. You will drive developer strategy with Engineering teams, acting as the advocate of developers to bring mutually beneficial features to market. You'll work closely with developers on complex product integrations on Android apps and help bring solutions that create a cohesive experience to end users on the platform. You will also work with Product teams to help build APIs to drive success of Android platform.

Responsibilities

  • Work with game developers, Android Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), and game engines in Korea and APAC to support exciting new product integrations on flagship Android devices.
  • Optimize cutting-edge AA/AAA game titles, resolve engineering problems with Google technologies, and scale the knowledge to improve the overall gaming ecosystem.
  • Advocate for game developers internally and influence Google developer product strategy by working with Product Management, Engineering, Public Relations, Marketing, Business Development, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Drive engineering focused workshops and meetings with developers to optimize the gaming experience, and resolve complex technical problems at a scale for users. These communications would often be done in Korean language to provide the best possible experience for partners in the region.
