Minimum qualifications:

  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.
  • Ability to communicate in Japanese and English fluently in order to partner with internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience interpreting legal documents, negotiating complex agreements, and collaborating with legal teams to draft and execute agreements.
  • Experience designing and executing strategic game plans for specific audiences.
  • Ability to learn technological concepts, financial models, and product features.
  • Ability to grow in fast-paced, fluid environments.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to be a team player and multitasker.
  • Excellent negotiation and verbal/written communication skills.

The YouTube Product Partnerships team drives the partner strategy and manages key relationships that help to make YouTube’s products more universally accessible and useful. We own the business side of new products and initiatives, and our strategic partnerships seek to build, distribute, grow, and protect YouTube’s products globally. We know how to assess partnership opportunities in any situation, define a strategy, and work closely within our team, and with Product, Marketing, and other cross-functional stakeholders to drive critical partnerships that help evolve our business.

As a Strategic Partnerships Manager for YouTube, you will be responsible for driving content objectives within the media and entertainment industry. You will inspire, educate, and collaborate with creators and content partners to help them leverage YouTube's platforms to expand their audience reach. This role involves managing existing partnerships, identifying growth opportunities, and potentially focusing on key verticals such as kids, TV and talent agencies. By anticipating business issues and tracking performance, you will develop and execute effective content strategies that ensure a vibrant and engaging ecosystem for viewers of all ages.

Responsibilities

  • Build and develop commercial and strategic relationships with key partners across the media and entertainment industry. Act as a domain expert for the media and entertainment sector, staying informed on market dynamics, engaged landscapes, and safety/policy trends relevant to audiences.
  • Manage and optimize partner performance on YouTube, focusing on maximizing reach, watch time, and audience engagement.
  • Connect partners to internal cross-functional opportunities, including product launches, content funding programs, and initiatives related to audiences.
  • Lead in defining content objectives and managing alignment across marketing, operations, sales, and other cross-functional teams. Provide leadership and insight for country-specific issues and opportunities.
  • Monitor and report on vertical performance, identifying trends and opportunities within specific audience demographics.
