About the job

At Google, we follow a simple but vital premise: "Focus on the user and all else will follow." This role will lead the content strategy and writing team to drive amazing AI experiences in Search, balancing the practical needs of product development with building a foundational knowledge base covering all facets of user needs, motivations, and desired experiences along the user journey. We have just started to scratch the surface on the possibilities to drive exceptional content experiences at scale for global users, and are looking to create the future of conversations on Search and beyond.

Our UX content teams shape Google’s Search product by crafting experiences that set the tone for our users and drive cohesive product narratives across our global ecosystem of products. In this new world the conversation is the new paradigm for how users interact with Google. Translating the Googleyness of Google into a persona and personality that scales across all of a person's informational needs is no small task. In this role, you will shape the Search content strategy and vision, and articulate and develop model behavior principles - directly impacting the users experience with Search and AI Mode.

You will be responsible for defining what “great” looks like through a deep understanding of user needs, the competitive landscape, and differentiator opportunities that are woven into a model behavior strategy and Google AI products. You will be the primary UX partner to product management, user research, data science, and engineering leadership - while also partnering very closely with DeepMind and the Gemini App content team.

In Google Search, we're reimagining what it means to search for information – any way and anywhere. To do that, we need to solve complex engineering challenges and expand our infrastructure, while maintaining a universally accessible and useful experience that people around the world rely on. In joining the Search team, you'll have an opportunity to make an impact on billions of people globally.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $314,000-$436,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
