Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in strategy, operations, management consulting, business strategy, a similar analytical role, or 6 years of experience with an advanced degree.
- 4 years of experience working with executive stakeholders.
- 4 years of experience in developing business strategies or managing cross-functional initiatives.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in strategic planning, budget management, performance measurement, and driving operational efficiencies for executive leadership.
- Ability to translate complex data into actionable strategy and articulate to executives while maintaining attention to detail.
- Ability to develop in ambiguous, fast-paced environments and effectively prioritize long-term goals against short-term needs.
- Ability to partner with teams (e.g., Marketing, Policy, Legal, Finance).
About the job
As a Strategy and Operations lead for APAC within Google’s Global Communications and Public Affairs (GCPA) team, you will be the strategic thought partner to our regional leadership. Your role is a blend of strategy and operations, designed for a leader who excels at building efficient systems and driving problem-solving insights. You will focus on driving operational excellence from meticulous budget management to developing solutions that inform our strategy. You will simplify processes, foster a One GCPA mindset, and build the operational engine for a team.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement agile frameworks to enhance team efficiency, manage budgets, and streamline workflows. Partners with finance, procurement, international Strategy and Operations leads and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution.
- Act as a strategic counselor to the Head of APAC GCPA and their leadership team. Use data and strategic analysis to optimize performance and guide our long-term priorities for GCPA and APAC overall.
- Partner with global and other regions to scale and adopt problem-solving tools for APAC, track our impact, generate actionable insights, and shape data-driven decision-making.
- Support planning and reviews, build dashboards for the business planning process, support strategies to allocate resources against GCPA's priorities, and manage headcount and team moves effectively.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing, embracing AI and promoting a culture that is high-performing, and fun.
