Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in technical assessments, optimizations, architecture design, and leading cyber defense transformation initiatives (people, process and governance, technology), managing program risks, and devising solutions.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time as needed.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Certification in one or more of the following: ISACA (CISM); ISC2 (CISSP); SANS-GIAC (GSEC, GMON, GSOC, GCIA, GCTI, GCIH, GCED, GCDA).
  • Experience with SIEM or SOAR technologies like Google SecOps, Sentinel, Splunk, QRadar, XSOAR, or Phantom.
  • Experience building or transforming cyber defense programs and capabilities, including incident and crisis management, threat hunting, threat intelligence, and detection engineering.
  • Experience in cyber defense centre architecture, maturity assessments, and transformations.

About the job

As a Principal Security Consultant focusing on cyber defense, you will be a trusted advisor and thought leader, with experience leading and transforming cyber defense centres. In this role, you will lead strategic cyber defense transformation initiatives for our clients, working collaboratively with cross-functional Google and partner teams. You will be instrumental in enabling our clients on their journey to the direction of Modern Security Operations (MSO) and Agentic-Autonomous Security Operations Centres (SOC).

Responsibilities

  • Identify challenges experienced by cyber defense centers, and formulate strategies, develop road maps, and lead transformations. Drive security outcomes by engaging with and influencing executives and the management across our clients, partners, and Google.
  • Provide strategic advice and thought leadership on cyber defense, including on computer security incident response team activities and SOC management. Guide clients on their journey to the direction of MSO and agentic-autonomous SOC.
  • Contribute to global thought leadership and capability building to advance Mandiant’s offerings in cyber defense.
  • Lead high-profile cyber defense transformations requiring a high level of expertise, ensuring projects adhere to methodologies and quality standards, and managing the full project lifecycle.
  • Lead the cyber defense business development initiatives, encompassing customer relationship management, responding to requests for proposal, scoping, and developing statements of work.
