Customer Engineer, Infrastructure, AI/ML (English, German)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience as a technical sales engineer in a cloud computing environment or customer-facing role.
  • Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.
  • Experience in Infrastructure as a Service, AI Platform and Security.
  • Ability to communicate in English and German fluently to support client relationship management in this region.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience as a sales engineer in a cloud computing environment, or in a customer/partner-facing role.
  • Experience engaging with various stakeholders (C-level to technical engineering) and major customers.
  • Experience in Healthcare, Life-sciences, Pharma, Media Entertainment or in Energy industry.
  • Experience in a pre-sales technical role, preferably with cloud technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills.

As a Customer Engineer, you will work with the sales team to introduce Google Cloud to the customers. You will help prospective, existing customers, and partners understand the power of Google Cloud, develop creative cloud solutions and architectures to solve their business issues, and problem-solve any potential technical roadblocks.

Responsibilities

  • Support customers and partners to understand the value we can deliver to their business, and challenges we can help them solve. 
  • Work cross-functionally across Google and partners to resolve technical roadblocks, constraints and product challenges.
  • Become the subject matter expert to differentiate Google Cloud to the most strategic customers. Identify business and technical requirements, conduct full technical discovery and architect client solutions to meet gathered requirements.
  • Use expertise and communication skills to engage with customers to understand their business and technical requirements and persuasively present practical and useful solutions. Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities related, understand key customer objections, and develop the strategy to resolve blockers.
  • Develop and deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, and training sessions.
