Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a Technical or a Engineering field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7 years of experience in commodity management, sourcing and supply chain management.
- Experience in electromechanical modules, agreement manufacturers management with cost engaging technologies.
- Ability to travel up to 35% of the time as needed.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in a Technical, Business Administration or Engineering field.
- 10 years of experience in Commodity Management, Camera, Optics and Electromechanical components Sourcing or Supply Chain Management.
- Excellent communication, and collaboration skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and project management skills.

Commodity Managers work with Engineering teams to make sure Google has the supplies and equipment to put into production the innovative products coming from our Engineering teams. As a Commodity Manager, you use your wide industry knowledge and strategic supplier relationships to optimize our total cost of ownership for our global -- and growing -- infrastructure. The scale at which Google operates means that savings on just one piece of hardware can have a huge impact on Google's bottom line.In this role, you will be the bridge between Google's Engineering and Product teams and our external suppliers. You will be working on design, develop, cost, and deliver electromechanical modules, connectors, and battery components at a consumer electronics scale. You will be ensuring Google has the suppliers and equipment to bring products to market. You will optimize the total cost of ownership for a growing global infrastructure. You will serve as the primary contact for sourcing and procurement, building consensus with internal and external stakeholders. You will lead negotiations, manage supplier relationships, and develop global strategies to ensure pricing, flexibility, quality, and supply assurance for Google’s Devices and Services Product Area. You will be the commercial owner, focusing on agreements, pricing, and partnerships.Google's mission is to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful. Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategies for Consumer Hardware; identify and implement new opportunities for Cost Savings and Cost Avoidance including optimizing the supply base for Google’s Consumer Hardware needs.
- Develop understanding of cost technologies, processes, and products to guide and influence product development decisions; Create cost models for new modules, components, and processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities and risks related to product design and business plans.
- Develop global sourcing strategies with defined plans for cost savings, risk assessment and mitigation, and supply planning agreements.
- Address all areas of global sourcing and supply chain management including commodity business plans, supplier performance management, global market, building up a strong supply base that’s the right fit for Google, pricing analysis, agreements and procurement support.
