Sales Strategy and Operations Manager, Platforms and Devices

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience in management consulting, sales operations, business strategy, or corporate advisory, or 4 years of experience with an advanced degree.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or MBA in Strategy Consulting, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in strategy-oriented roles, and shaping the business strategy as a trusted partner to executives.
  • Experience delivering compelling, data-driven recommendations that drive action and influence executive-level decisions.
  • Experience in consumer electronics, Business-to-Business (B2B) sales, technology, media, or telecom.
  • Experience in financial/business modeling and crafting executive-level presentations.
  • Ability to separately structure ambiguous problems, build investigative frameworks, and scope projects from goal to execution.

The Platforms and Devices Commercial Organization (PDCO) directly puts the magic of Google’s technology in consumers’ hands and homes, through the Pixel mobile products and home and health hardware and services businesses. The product categories we work across include Pixel phones and the supporting Pixel ecosystem (earbuds, tablets, smartwatches), as well as Nest, Fitbit and our Gemini-powered home and health subscriptions. We maximize sales and MAUs (Monthly Active Users) across these devices and services by working closely with the largest telcos, retailers and other partners in the Americas, along with our Google Store.

The mission of the Sales Strategy and Operations team is to chart the best strategic course for the business and drive decision-making through the organization to pursue it. As a member of our team, you will partner closely with commercial leadership and a wide group of cross-functional stakeholders to shape the go-to-market (GTM) and growth of our fast-evolving products in highly competitive and dynamic markets.

As a Sales Strategy and Operations Manager, you will take on a wide range of strategy and operations projects with an eye toward medium- to long-term business optimization.

The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$216,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Build the business case for new market entry or expansion at country, channel or partner level.
  • Drive long-term strategies for the health of the business, including MAU growth, market share, margin growth and other mission-critical objectives.
  • Evaluate large investment opportunities and lead governance of Go-to-Market (GTM) funds.
  • Develop and pilot new GTM strategies across Sales, Marketing, and other teams to grow market share.
  • Lead annual and long-range planning across several cross-functional teams.
