Minimum qualifications:
- Master's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Engineering, Sciences, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis, or a relevant PhD degree.
Preferred qualifications:
- 4 years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis, or a relevant PhD degree.
- Experience in advertising effectiveness, market research, brand strategy, or a related field.
- Experience with machine learning models and Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques.
- Ability to work with large datasets and draw conclusions from data and manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results in a changing environment.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis, data intuition, and data management.
- Excellent project management skills.

The Global Product Solution, YouTube plus Creative Research team works at the intersection of data, creativity, and advertising. Our mission is to enable advertisers to grow the variety and quality of their ads, increasing their effectiveness on our platforms. We achieve this by augmenting their creative process with solutions developed by leveraging 1P and 3P approaches. Utilizing statistical models, advanced data science and analytical techniques, and AI tools, we develop insights that inform business decisions and provide clear creative guidance. Our team is responsible for foundational research and best practices, such as YouTube's ABCDs of creative effectiveness, which help our partners succeed and grow on the platform.
As a Business Data Scientist you will be instrumental in developing the insights that shape how advertisers build their brands on our platform. You will deliver key components of data science projects, from improving data pipelines and developing evaluation metrics to building statistical models. You will work directly with clients and internal partners to understand their business requirements and deliver impactful results. In this role, you will collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to analyze and enhance the customer and user experience.
Responsibilities
- Develop metrics to track and evaluate solution deployment across teams.
- Create dashboards and tools to automate processes, generate reports, and guide product decisions.
- Curate and validate data to ensure quality standards are met.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand the domain, business goals, and data infrastructure context.
