Partner Engineering Manager, Public Sector

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience with cloud architecture in a partner-facing or support role.
  • 3 years of leadership experience, such as people management, team lead, mentorship or coaching.
  • Experience working with partners in an architecture or solution delivery role.
  • Experience with designing and building architectures and with migration of workloads to cloud environments.
  • Experience in, or supporting, US Federal agencies.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, or in a related technical field.
  • Experience managing a team through sales processes, operations, and career development, including account mapping, quota setting, performance management, and managing sensitive information.
  • Experience building strategic business partnerships.
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders in a collaborative, fluid environment.
  • Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders, including tailoring and delivering compelling messages by audience, asking strategic questions, and leading conversations that drive business; experience conducting partner CTO/technical discussions and engagements.
  • Active US Government Secret clearance or higher.

About the job

As a Partner Engineering Manager (PEM), you will lead and deploy a team of Partner Engineers (PEs) responsible for understanding the technical capabilities of partners and effectively recommending the right partner and solutions to customers.

In this role, you will lead the effort to enable partners across technologies and solutions. You will contribute to customer adoption of Google Cloud by supporting the Partner Engineering team as they illustrate how Google Cloud services can help customers innovate, bring their services to market faster, differentiate against the competition, and create new business growth streams. You will help partners succeed in the proof of concept, migration, and deployment phases, ensuring they have full access to Google Cloud’s artifacts, tools, templates, and best practices.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $181,000-$257,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of high performing Partner Engineers and build an inclusive and thriving growth culture. Focus on talent strategy and development to deliver on successful cloud transformation outcomes for partners and customers, and accelerate business goals for Google Public Sector.
  • Support Partner Engineers to enable system integrator (SI) and Independent Software Vendors (ISV) partner technical teams, capabilities, and capacity through prototyping and product integrations and guiding customers through assessments.
  • Create partner technical development plans, aligned to annual planning and drive technical wins of SI/ISV partners aligned to customer opportunities.
  • Support the team working with ISV/SI partners to develop solution documentation, joint technical articles, webinars, whitepapers, demos and build solution focused technical assets.
  • Recommend Google cloud integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms and application infrastructure for partner solutions.
