Manufacturing Test Engineering Manager, Manufacturing System

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, a related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in the manufacturing or test engineering field.
  • 5 years of experience in people management.
  • Experience managing multiple projects, and an engineering team.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or a similar technical discipline.
  • 10 years of experience in technical operations supporting deployment of manufacturing test solutions in various industry technologies like consumer equipment, networking, server, storage, rack etc.
  • 10 years of experience in technical management, with knowledge in test engineering.
  • Experience in software development practices such as agile, revision control and unit testing.

The Manufacturing Operations team is responsible for providing the manufacturing capability to deliver the physical infrastructure.

As a Manufacturing Rack Test and System Engineering Manager, you will assess product designs and architect the manufacturing rack test processes and solutions necessary for NPI and production readiness. You will also lead the development of software tools and automation frameworks to ensure that manufacturing systems and infrastructure are optimized to support global production. You will possess a deep understanding of manufacturing test engineering principles, software development and deployment, and a passion for delivering high-quality solutions in a dynamic environment. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Test Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, and Quality Assurance, to define manufacturing test strategies, drive test development and manufacturing optimization, and resolve technical challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage the Manufacturing Rack Test and System Engineering teams supporting Google's Platform deployed in data centers.
  • Develop team strategy, goal and quarterly objectives, aligning with organizational priorities. Assess and manage team performance and development plan.
  • Balance team workload and develop staffing plans. Partner with staffing throughout the hiring process.
  • Oversee the development and deployment of manufacturing rack test NPIs; provide technical expertise and leadership throughout product lifecycles. Drive DFx and testability into new products.
  • Drive the development of manufacturing test executive software and test automation frameworks to enhance manufacturing test optimization and efficiency. Communicate effectively with leadership and stakeholders, providing timely updates on test status, risk assessments, and product quality.
