Senior Director, Engineering, Search Platform

Minimum qualifications:
- 15 years of experience in software engineering leadership roles, with experience building enterprise products or platforms.
- Experience in search, information retrieval, indexing, and serving, including experience with search quality, search experience, and search performance metrics, and with the design, workflow, and integration of vertical search applications.
- Experience with generative AI concepts (e.g., LLMs, fine tuning, distillation, function calling and orchestration, etc.), development workflows, and use cases.
- Experience with cloud-based development, as well as ElasticSearch, Kubernetes, Spring, or similar frameworks, and in large-systems software design and development.
- Experience building and designing large-scale enterprise APIs.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Mining, Information Systems, or related disciplines with technical expertise in one or more of the above mentioned areas or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience leading large, healthy organizations with an execution mindset.
- Experience being a key technical decision maker and influencer for large distributed systems that were successful as a product.
- Experience working with developers and building a developer ecosystem.
- Experience applying AI solutions and ML-related technologies to solve real-world AI/ML problems in consumer or enterprise applications.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $323,000-$465,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Develop strategic vision for Cloud AI to constantly innovate high quality, secure, scalable, cloud compliant search and generative AI platform components that are adopted by enterprises across different industries.Â
- Define and deliver on the strategy for Search and RAG Platform.
- Design, build, and deploy search and summarization solutions that leverage the latest LLM and technologies improving information discovery and conversation efficiency and experience.  Â
- Drive latency, robustness, and scalability of the search system, and provide guidance on how to improve retrieval and ranking latency and throughput by making best use of GPU/TPU and ML infrastructure.
- Establish an innovative product and research agenda. Lead collaborations across product areas to advance search and generative technologies and deliver the best search solution experience to enterprise customers.
