Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 3 years of experience with developing infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
- 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
- Experience in a relevant programming language (Python, Java/Kotlin, or Golang) for developing and managing automation frameworks.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
- Experience includes testing hardware, especially Android, devices.
- Understanding of testing infrastructure and engineering productivity improvements.

The Test Scheduling and Execution (TSE) team's mission is to provide scalable, optimal, flexible, and reliable test scheduling and execution for ChromeOS both internally and for external partners. The team is responsible for the systems that schedule and execute millions of daily tests against thousands of physical Chromebook devices to support developer workflows, regression testing, and releases.ChromeOS delivers quality computing at scale to provide universal and unfettered access to information, entertainment, and tools. Our mission is to empower anyone to create and access information freely through fast, secure, simple, and intelligent computing.
Responsibilities
- Write and review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
- Collaborate across a set of teams to understand and align on stakeholder requirements and priorities, and jointly design solutions and drive cross-team efforts with peer engineering teams.
- Set the technical direction and roadmap for the team, balancing short-term deliverables and long-term investments. Drive and participate in technical design, and be where needed. Demonstrate strong execution and own the team's deliverables and outcomes.
- Manage, mentor, and lead a small high-performing team of Software Engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and technical excellence.
