Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in management consulting, sales operations, business strategy, investment banking, venture capital, private equity, or corporate advisory, or 8 years of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 5 years of experience working with executive stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA degree.
  • Ability to manage executive stakeholder relationships and facilitate complex meetings across multiple functions in a distributed, global organization.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate, mentor, and develop a team of strategy and operations professionals.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to use them in managing large-scale, global efforts with multiple partner teams.

About the job

The Global Business Strategy and Operations (GBS&O) team is the part of GTM that is responsible for providing insightful review, perspective and direction on the strategy and operating performance of Google’s Global Business Organization (GBO). GBO comprises all the sales, services, product commercialization and partnerships teams that power Google’s multi-billion dollar ads business.

GBS&O includes critical strategic and operational teams that accelerate Google’s performance including but not limited to Chief of Staff and Strategic Narratives team that supports GBO leadership, Global Business Strategy and Planning, Data Insights and Analytics, and Ads Policy, Risk and Compliance.

As the Head of Policy Monetization, you will serve as a strategic architect for Google’s digital ads ecosystem, transforming complex policy landscapes into sustainable engaged advantages for the Global Business Organization (GBO). You will lead a high-performing team at the intersection of product innovation, market strategy, and regulatory compliance, ensuring that our multi-billion dollar ads business grow in an evolving global market.

You are a visionary leader who excels at translating big picture strategy into pragmatic, executable roadmaps that unlock safe and sustainable growth for the business. Known for your executive presence, you will navigate ambiguity to influence executive stakeholders across functions owning the narrative for initiatives that define Google’s future in the advertising space.

The Go-to-Market Operations (GtM) team ensures Google's complex and ever-evolving Ads business runs smoothly. We are instrumental in setting go-to-market strategy, and ensuring flawless execution and operations against the strategy. We have teams embedded in each of the major Ads business areas as well as global teams that work across the business areas. Team members are analytical and strategic, with a pragmatic sense of how to get things done.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $234,000-$326,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the global strategy for ads policy, positioning Google as the market leader in the responsible and profitable use of advertising platforms.
  • Partner with executive leadership to launch and scale strategic initiatives, providing data-driven insights and executive-ready updates on urgent business-impacting issues.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize GBO’s operating performance by integrating policy considerations directly into the commercialization lifecycle.
  • Lead and inspire a global, cross-functional organization to achieve unified business objectives, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
