TV Partner Engineering and Operations Manager

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience working with client-side web technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or HTTP).
  • 8 years of experience coding with one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, C/C++, Python).
  • Experience troubleshooting technical issues for internal/external partners or customers.
  • Experience in management and leading technical teams.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in the media industry, including television and video technologies.
  • Experience solving challenges and providing impact on cross-functional goals along with excellent systems architecture and software development skills in AI technology.
  • Ability to influence Engineering and partner with stakeholders in sales, business development, or product.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, multitasking, and communication skills.

The YouTube Partner Engineering team accelerates YouTube’s Product and Business strategies by working closely with our partners across Music, Connected TV, Devices, Measurement, Gaming, News and Media as well as internal Product, Engineering and Business teams. Our global team of Partner Engineers and Operations Specialists provide advanced technical solutions, exceptional digital content operations, systems integration and management, and proactive partner engagement to make it easy for our partners to engage with our platform at scale, and to empower amazing user experiences across YouTube's products and platform (YouTubeTV, YouTube Premium and Music, YouTube on TV and Auto, YouTube Primetime Channels, marquee live events, etc).

The TV industry is changing and our team is focused on building the future of TV for YouTube, including products like YouTube Primetime Channels. As a Manager, you will lead a team to help media companies and YouTube operate better together through improved technical integrations and workflows.

In this role, you will lead a team of TV Partner Engineers and Technical Operations responsible for enabling our YouTube Primetime Channels business globally. You lead cross-functional initiatives by setting direction, aligning resources, and coaching team members. You will be instrumental in taking new initiatives from conception to deployment, implementing solutions to bridge gaps, and commercializing new solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a TV Partner Engineering team to deliver results for YouTube and our media company partners by enabling technical integrations and streamlining operational workflows.
  • Accelerate YouTube’s Primetime Channels business globally by on-boarding new media partners and improving operations with existing ones.Identify technical gaps and build solutions for internal operators and external partners.
  • Influence cross-functional teams (Engineering, Product, Business Development) and media companies to push the TV industry forward and align on priorities.Make decisions autonomously, with direction from the leaders when needed.
  • Serve as a role model and escalation point for the team. Cultivate a mission-first team environment and uphold norms that value respect, connection, well being, collaboration, and open communication.
  • Set expectations for each Googler and provide feedback and coaching to help Googlers deliver results.
