Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in manufacturing or semiconductor fab, Research and Development lab, or related areas in an equipment engineering or maintenance engineering role.
Preferred qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5 years of experience maintaining and troubleshooting semiconductor processing equipment (e.g., vacuum systems, wet etch, lithography, CMP tools).
- Understanding of semiconductor equipment processes, automation systems (PLCs, robotics).
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex hardware/software issues, and excellent communication and collaboration skills.

The Raxium Facility and Equipment team is critical to developing our unique microLEDs for AR applications. We ensure the safe and smooth operation of our semiconductor equipment, providing comprehensive support from preventative and reactive maintenance to complex troubleshooting, installations, and improvements. Our team maintains a broad range of semiconductor/facility equipment and cleanroom infrastructure. Our expertise lies in understanding the relationship between semiconductor processing and its support equipment, enabling us to troubleshoot complex problems, execute tasks, and collaborate on installing, modifying, maintaining, and repairing cleanroom and facility support equipment.
As a Senior Equipment Engineer, you will support our microLED and AR development.You will focus on expert-level maintenance, support, and optimization of our semiconductor processing equipment. Supporting advanced vacuum systems, related to Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD), Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP), and Reactive Ion Etching (RIE), you will have a broad understanding of semiconductor manufacturing and be able to support other critical toolsets. You will leverage their experience to support installations, troubleshoot complex issues, implement and perform preventative maintenance, to maximize the reliability and performance of our toolsets.
Google's Raxium display group has established a revolutionary semiconductor materials display technology that enables new functionality in display products, bringing to users a closer and more natural linkage between the digital and physical realms in applications such as augmented reality (AR) and light-field display. With start-up roots and a state-of-the-art compound semiconductor fab in Silicon Valley, Raxium is seeking to build upon its engineering team with an aim to disrupt next-generation display markets.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $138,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on semiconductor manufacturing equipment across process areas (vacuum, lithography, metrology, wet processing, etc.).
- Utilize technical expertise and diagnostic skills to resolve complex equipment issues and implement solutions, including using schematics, diagrams, and test equipment.
- Provide comprehensive support for critical semiconductor manufacturing equipment across various process areas, including vacuum, lithography, metrology, and wet processing.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to support and manage equipment upgrades and new tool installations, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
- Maintain a focus on safety protocols and foster a collaborative work environment, supporting teams cross-functionally.
