Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Optics, Mechanics, Engineering, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 years of experience working in optical/mechanical/opto-mechanical design, camera module design, or camera system integration design.
- Experience in high volume camera module design, development, module integration process, and factory test/calibration.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience as a people manager or project lead.
- Experience in imaging system design in consumer electronics.
- Experience in camera component or module manufacturing processes.
- Excellent project management and leadership skills.

The Camera Hardware team inside the Tech Engineering Imaging and Vision (TEIV) group is responsible for developing camera hardware for all Google’s Pixel products.
The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of Pixel camera hardware systems and modules, from initial design lock through to mass production and collaborating with cross-functional teams and external Module integrator (MI) partners.
- Define and execute Pixel camera modules and system Engineering Requirement Specification (ERS), test, qualification, manufacturing and calibration across all development stages.
- Lead the camera product failure analysis, corrective action implementation, and overseeing camera module/system manufacturing, production, and post-reliability performance and lead design down selection by evaluating user impact, implementing corrective actions, assessing cost and supply risk, and providing technical risk assessments.
- Manage supplier relationships and leverage supplier resources and capabilities to meet engineering specifications.
- Define and enhance product design and development infrastructure (e.g., failure analysis process flow, design review coverage) to drive continuous improvement and maximize project efficiency and success.
