Minimum qualifications:

  • 15 years of experience as a senior operations leader, managing systems, portfolios, and distributed technical/operational teams
  • 10 years of experience in operations, data center infrastructure, and continuous improvement capabilities
  • 10 years of experience managing mission critical logistics or supply chain systems or operations, teams, and processes
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time

Preferred qualifications:

  • Understanding of networks and server hardware architecture, including deployment and maintenance

We are responsible for Supply Chain Planning, Global Commodity Management, Global Manufacturing, New Product Introduction, Product Lifecycle Management, Global Logistics, Program Management, Supply Chain Responsibility, and Supply Chain BizOps.

Google's 3rd Party Data Center (3PDC) Operations team is responsible for keeping Google’s global fleet leased (colocation) data centers running smoothly and efficiently. As the Director, ServerOps 3rd Party Data Centers (3PDC), you will lead large geographically distributed teams of talented IT data center technicians and operations managers who are collectively responsible for the technical health and efficiency of Google’s colocation data centers. This includes oversight of the hardware components of Google’s compute, storage, and network infrastructure in the most efficient, secure, and scalable way possible.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $237,000-$340,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead the Global team that direct the operation and support of the site computing hardware, and networking operations of Google’s 3PDCs in the Americas. Work with third party logistics vendors and manage the related processes and outcomes.
  • Collaborate as a key member of the regional and global leadership teams to drive operations. Work with internal/external partners to implement strategy for the global third-party data centers, including community affairs and relationships, and work with cross-functional teams to identify problems and create solutions that impact 3PDC.
  • Propose innovation and strategies for cost effective and efficient data center logistics processes and server operations.
  • Perform budget planning, resource planning, organizational development, maintenance, availability, efficiency, safety and continuous improvement.
  • Hire, coach, and develop a team of technical staff, including new greenfield site turn-up within the region.
