Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in program management, community management, or a similar role, with a focus on education or professional development.
  • Experience working in higher education landscapes.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in building online or offline communities, within a global context.
  • Experience with community platforms, collaboration tools, and analytics software.
  • Understanding of higher education teaching methodologies, and the challenges faced by teaching staff.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage with audience.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

About the job

Google for Education’s Global Impact team creates training and community programs that have helped over 140 million students, educators and administrators use Gemini, Google Workspace for Education, Chromebooks, and other tools. Our team is dedicated to bringing the best of Google to Higher Educational institutions, and we are hiring a program manager to develop training content for faculty in this transformation moment.

As a Program Manager, you will design, launch, and manage global communities of practice for higher education faculty (teaching staff) to explore Google AI tools. This role will be instrumental in cultivating a collaborative environment where educators can share approaches, resources, and teaching methodologies to enhance student learning outcomes worldwide. You will have an understanding of educational pedagogy, community building, and program management, with an ability to work across cultural contexts.

The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a strategy for the creation, growth, and sustainability of the global faculty communities, aligning with organizational goals and the needs of higher education teaching staff.
  • Cultivate and nurture a global community of educators, promoting active participation and knowledge sharing around Google AI tools.
  • Develop Google AI resources, templates, and guides that support the objectives of the faculty communities.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders (e.g., product teams, marketing, research) and external partners (e.g., universities, educational organizations).
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the faculty communities, including platform administration, moderation, and technical support.
