Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7 years of work experience in a technical role (e.g., software engineering, solutions consultant, etc.) or equivalent technical experience.
- Experience with artificial intelligence within a developer advocate capacity.
- Experience across different platforms regarding social media presence.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in developing or delivering software, including coding experience in one or more of the following languages: Python, TypeScript, Java, Go.
- Experience as a software developer, architect, technical supporter, consultant, educator, community manager, product manager, CTO, or consultant.
- Experience in active social media presence in leading platforms.
- Experience speaking at technology conferences, blogging/writing technical articles with an existing follower base, or contributing to a popular open source project.
- Ability to advocate on behalf of technology and AI communities and to collaborate with them to solve their problems using Google technologies.

Cloud AI Developer Advocates are expert developers who are passionate representatives of our AI technologies to our communities to increase awareness, mindshare, and adoption. We accomplish this by creating impactful content and engaging with developer communities online or first-party/third-party events. Advocates work closely with Product Managers (PM)/Engineeering teams to help drive strategy, roadmaps, and engagement with developer communities.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside Engineering/Developer Relation teams to introduce Google’s emerging Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to developers. Lead authentic discussions and establish ourself as a key influencer in the AI social media space.
- Advocate developer needs, tests, and unique perspectives, directly impacting product direction and ensuring alignment with GenAI/AI Agent building communities.
- Create engaging technical resources/developer experiences through talks, workshops, blogs, podcasts, etc. that ignite excitement/adoption of Google Cloud AI/ML products and technical communities, including open source developers/enterprise customers.
- Collaborate across different teams to engage with developers in the community, identify developer friction points with the product teams, then execute during releases/events to help AI developers work more efficiently.
