Program Manager, Capacity Planning

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience managing projects.
  • Experience with supply chain operations in asset management, manufacturing, procurement, commodity management, or supplier management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with data center capacity planning and presenting to executives.
  • Knowledge of the tools and elements of project management.
  • Ability to use data including SQL and metrics to back up assumptions and evaluate outcomes.
  • Ability to self-initiate end-to-end project lifecycles with excellent sense of accountability and ownership and manage multiple, engaging priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent attention to detail and written and verbal communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving and quantitative skills.

As part of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) capacity infrastructure planning team you have the opportunity to grow Google’s cloud business by continuously optimizing Google Cloud demand planning strategy and guiding long-term infrastructure investment via innovative and systemic process improvement, functional interlock, and automation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, document and execute processes to support data center power capacity management on a global basis.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop regional power capacity health plans to manage regional power constraints and drive action plans to bring constrained regions back to health.
  • Create models to plan future capacity needs and evaluate capacity risks and actions to remediate capacity constraints.
  • Manage multiple interdependent projects of high scope. Use technical judgment to drive project delivery, technology reviews, test proposals and build consensus.
  • Work with partner teams to launch and deliver projects related to data architecture and process re-design around demand and supply-side compute and storage resource management.
