Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience with software development in C/C++, or 2 years of experience with an advanced degree.
- 5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with computer technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
- Experience testing, analyzing, and benchmarking new or existing solutions.
- Experience in the maintenance of customer-facing products and solutions.
- Experience developing in Zephyr OS, and working in Rust or Java.
- Experience and passion for working with physical hardware components.

The Chrome OS Fingerprint team works on designing and implementing low-level embedded and kernel/userspace software.
In this role, you will cooperate with a multi-geo team to define and implement firmware/software features, improvements, and processes. You will develop dedicated MCU firmware and user space software for a wide range of Chrome OS devices equipped with fingerprint sensors. You will also work on improving metrics, test coverage, and responding to user feedback. Additionally, this work includes contributions to open-source Zephyr OS, Linux kernel, and Android projects.
You will join the team in working on cross-domain projects and leading industry biometrics technologies and their adoption in Chrome OS and Android. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.

Responsibilities
- Evaluate, improve, test, and debug biometric code, ensuring accuracy and efficiency on real hardware.
- Lead design reviews, collaborate with peers, stakeholders, and external partners to select and integrate optimal technologies.
- Contribute to Zephyr OS firmware, Linux kernel, and ChromeOS/Android user space applications, driving platform advancements.
- Write tests, monitor releases, handle user reports, triage product issues, and provide code reviews to maintain high standards.
- Contribute to documentation and educational content, adapting it based on updates and user feedback, and directly address user concerns.
