Manager, Advanced Operations Engineering (English, Spanish)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in hardware manufacturing, within Cloud Infrastructure, Aerospace, or Automotive sectors.
  • 3 years of experience in people management.
  • Ability to communicate in English and Spanish fluently to engage with local stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 6 years of experience managing programs to improve engineering productivity or related areas (e.g., engineering or development throughput, automation, capacity, cost, speed, or effectiveness).
  • Experience with people management experience and leading multi-disciplinary teams (i.e., Manufacturing, Test, and Data Engineers).
  • Experience in technical leadership, project management, and executive communication.
  • Experience working on components for Data Centers.

Google's custom-designed equipment forms one of the world's largest and most powerful computing infrastructures. The Manufacturing Operations team ensures the manufacturing capability to deliver this physical infrastructure.

As an Electrical Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will lead a team within the Cloud Supply Chain Organization, providing manufacturing support and guidance for Google Cloud's hardware products. You will establish standard processes for evaluating product designs and creating the processes, tools, and procedures that underpin Google's powerful technology. Your team will launch new products in Contract Manufacturer (CM), Original Design Manufacturer (ODM), and Joint Development (JDM) environments. When onsite, your team members will validate that vendor manufacturing processes are repeatable and controlled. You will collaborate with Cross Functional Managers and Design Engineers to determine Google's infrastructure needs and product specifications, aligning your team resources accordingly. Your work ensures the seamless integration of Google's infrastructure components, maintaining system reliability for an optimal user experience. Through your team's leadership, you will deliver advanced Electrical manufacturing engineering and Design for Excellence (DFx) experience. Behind Google's online experience is the Technical Infrastructure team, responsible for building and maintaining our data centers and developing next-generation platforms. Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of highly competent Manufacturing/Test/Data Engineers, to deliver Cloud Hardware to our customers.
  • Inform and lead organizational and business transformations to improve the operational capability and predictability of the Manufacturing and Test Engineering function.
  • Build and maintain stakeholder relationships with cross-functional leaders of Engineering, Project Management, Commodity Management, Deployment and Quality organizations, representing the Manufacturing Engineering Function.
  • Contribute to the advancement of the Technical Operations Community through participation in various organizational development activities.
  • Lead technical advisor for the team for manufacturing enhancement options, ensuring yield capabilities meet demand without compromising Time to Market.
