  • 7 years of experience in data analysis, including identifying trends, generating summary statistics, and drawing insights from quantitative and qualitative data.
  • 7 years of experience managing projects and defining project scope, goals, and deliverables.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 2 years of management experience.
  • Experience with classification and ranking systems, LLMs, statistical modeling, data mining, and analyzing large, disparate datasets.
  • An analytical mindset with an experience translating quantitative insights into actionable business strategies and automation.
  • Ability to persuade stakeholders across levels and lead innovation within multifunctional, international teams through deep product and policy knowledge.
  • Skilled in consultative problem solving, experiment design, and metrics analysis to drive complex projects to completion.

Whether understanding and solving their online content concerns, navigating within global legal frameworks, or writing and enforcing worldwide policy, the Trust & Safety team is on the frontlines of enhancing the YouTube experience, building internet safety, and protecting free speech in our ever-evolving digital world.

As an Engineering Analyst Manager for YouTube Trust and Safety, you will be responsible for formulating strategies and implementing solutions to drive anti-abuse analytics and detection at scale within YouTube. You will work cross-functionally, engaging with stakeholders from policy, legal, engineering, data science, ranking, and product teams across a wide variety of abuse issues.

We partner with teams across Google to deliver bold solutions in abuse areas such as malware, spam and account hijacking. A team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google’s products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $189,000-$274,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Engineering Analysts to perform deep investigations and apply advanced statistical methods to large and complex data sets spanning billions of events and thousands of features from unique data sources across the organization.
  • Lead the team to create and deploy solutions for classification of abusive accounts, content and behavior using a variety of tools, features and functions, including SQL, Python, and LLMs.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders and partners in engineering, product, policy, and legal to drive complex anti-abuse solutions involving and impacting various cross-functional areas.
  • Formulate a practical and high impact long term strategy and outlook, and lead a dedicated analyst team to cover a wide variety of abuse vectors.
  • Identify abuse trends and techniques early and develop and deploy anti-abuse countermeasures on a tight schedule and dealing with abuse at scale.
