Partner Technology Manager, Google Mobile Service Partnership

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in either system design or reading code (e.g., Java, C++, Python, etc.).
  • 5 years of experience in technical project management, stakeholder management, professional services, solution engineering or technical consulting, and 1 year of experience in technical leadership.
  • 5 years of experience in the software engineering for mobile application development or smart mobile device development or 1 year of experience working for smartphone or tablet device manufacturers/SoC manufacturers.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with system architecture or device bring-up of Android or other Linux-based platforms.
  • Knowledge of mobile and internet technologies with fluency in preparing presentations, developing and delivering executive level communications, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to navigate through ambiguity and ramp up quickly in a complex organization with a track record of managing complex cross-functional projects and setting goals.
  • Ability to partner effectively with cross-functional teams and influence others without direct authority.

About the job

As a Partner Technology Manager in Android Partner Engineering, you will be responsible for working with our global partners and third party solution providers, introducing and deploying new Android features, optimized implementations and integrations at scale. You will drive new business opportunities and manage the overall technical aspects to build strong, successful, long-term partnerships. You are a technical expert with an entrepreneurial drive and passion for partner management and will have the opportunity to drive the technical partner engagement for our most high-profile and innovative projects.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$216,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Represent the Android Partner Engineering team in the virtual team of cross-functional collaborators from organizations such as engineering, product management, business development, etc., who work together on driving our partners’ adoption of innovative Google services and applications.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional collaborators and provide them with technical insights on the Android partner ecosystem.
  • Provide internal teams and external partners with creative technical solutions which can improve the quality or efficiency of projects.
  • Take the ownership of introducing or enforcing any technical requirements or policies for GMS devices to comply with, which can ensure the high quality of Google services and applications on GMS devices.
  • Collect and visualize data points on the quality or performance of Google services on GMS devices, and provide internal stakeholders with them.
