Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), consulting, investment banking, or a related function.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the networking, telecom, cloud, or fiber industry.
  • Ability to grasp complex problems and convert them into robust, actionable financial analyses.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and navigate ambiguity in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work with a high degree of proactivity and ownership mindset.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience conveying complex financial concepts to audiences.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align cross-functional teams around financial recommendations.

As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. Working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to take on big picture challenges. You will lead individual projects to transform planning, tracking and control processes.

You will have a unique opportunity to work regularly with the business' leadership team, and be deeply embedded in the business and expected to serve as a strategic thought partner (direction setter vs task taker). Your work, whether it's monthly/quarterly finance reviews, diligence/reviews, modeling business scenarios, tracking performance metrics, will be used by our engineering, business, and finance leaders to make strategic resource allocation decisions.

You will be regularly communicating complex analytical findings, models, and strategic recommendations effectively to audiences, including executive stakeholders.

From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $113,000-$162,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with multiple stakeholders across Technical Infrastructure, Engineers, Negotiators, Controllership and Google product/service teams to deliver on efficient scaling of Google’s network.
  • Develop financial models and analyze them to support strategic initiatives.
  • Lead monthly finance reviews of financial trends to executive audiences.
  • Drive strategic projects to help business with decision making and improving efficiency of networking infrastructure.
  • Influence the technology and provide financial guidance to business decision makers to ensure sound financial decisions, including ad-hoc business cases and capturing return on investment.
