Commercial Program Manager, gCLS Build

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in program management, supply chain management, or operations roles.
  • Experience in managing multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in vendor partnership management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in data center system construction or operations.
  • Knowledge of Data Center Operations, and Engineering.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders to drive risk management and escalation reporting.

As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

gCLS Build Team are to deliver all Google-owned Cable Landing Stations and project manage the delivery of Outside Plant within approved guardrails in order to deliver the critical landing nodes and switching hubs in support of Open Network Infrastructure initiative.

As the Commercial Program Manager within the Build team, you will be responsible for orchestrating the entire life-cycle of equipment supply for critical infrastructure projects, specifically focused on Cable Landing Systems. You will ensure products move seamlessly from initial demand planning and procurement through final delivery and "Cx Closeout". The goal is to optimize the end-to-end supply chain for efficiency, reduced costs, increased agility, and predictable execution against realistic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver predictable program communication plans in collaboration with program stakeholders, including targeted communications by stakeholder type.
  • Determine phasing and metrics associated with program life-cycle that effectively address continuous improvement including Resource Stewardship (effective deployment of machine and people resources) in close collaboration with program stakeholders, including near- and long-term objectives.
  • Determine and collect data required to execute and govern programs effectively. Maintain project trackers and status reports. Identify and execute on program tasks including proactively managing dependencies.
  • Execute change management requirements that are identified by program stakeholders.
  • Build trusted relationships with program stakeholders, including managing expectations of program stakeholders and ensuring they have the insights they need to make effective decisions.
