Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking, in the consumer electronics, auto, OEMs, telecom, e-commerce/retail, apps, ads, gaming, or technology industries.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or other advanced degree.
  • Experience working autonomously in a dynamic, ever-changing, and collaborative environment.
  • Experience managing end-to-end partnerships.
  • Ability to identify potential business opportunities, assess financial/business benefit, structure agreements, and discuss terms with partners.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.

About the job

As a Global Top Partner Manager, you will lead the cross-Google strategy for a set of partners in the Telco industry. You will also develop subject matter expertise in the Telco industry and share best practices that address issues and opportunities for Telcos globally with cross-Google stakeholders.

In this role, you will advise and support our business and product teams to optimize Google’s partner engagements and develop strategies to ensure Google’s success in an increasingly engaged landscape. You will develop insightful and actionable recommendations for Google executives.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

The Canada base salary range for this full-time position is CAD 162,000-166,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Responsibilities

  • Orchestrate partnership strategy for a set of telco partners internally across BD, Product, Legal, and other cross-functional stakeholders. Drive cross-Google alignment to ensure fluid communication and successful landing of multi-faceted initiatives, and develop compelling engagement strategies and briefings for Google’s executives (e.g., Vice President).
  • Provide input on new partnership opportunities, agreement discussions, market announcements, and executive decision-making. Drive consensus on partnership outcomes that balance value and risk.
  • Manage escalations and recommend risk mitigation paths, consulting with BD, Legal, Competition, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment around executive communications and risk mitigation.
  • Gather data from internal and external sources to become a recognized expert on specific companies in the telco industry to inform analyses on potential impact to Google’s business or approach.
  • Lead special projects that address cross-cutting issues and opportunities impacting telcos globally.
