Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, Go).
- 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
- 5 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
- Experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems, particularly those involving machine learning or AI.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Experience in areas such as machine learning, distributed systems, performance optimization, and large-scale infrastructures.
- Experience in leading teams through major technological shifts and product growth.
- Ability to manage ambiguous, open-ended problems and to build and execute a clear path forward.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and align priorities across multiple executive leaders.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $248,000-$349,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Lead a team of 15 - 20 engineers in an end-to-end product space, involving a Gemini-driven backend for multi-modal (YouTube video and channels) matching, classification and generation problems, ads serving, Google Ads frontend and data platform while integrating with horizontal services like ads payments, formats and auction models.
- Drive product and technical strategy to solve real product problems and enable our creator partnership products to lead the market.
- Scale and activate promising prototypes across global markets to achieve the "hockey-stick" growth curve.
- Navigate the organizational structure that spans almost 10 different cross-functional teams to drive alignment and clarity.
- Foster a healthy and sustainable team culture that enables retaining top engineering talent.
