Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in program management.
- 1 year of experience in Machine Learning.
Preferred qualifications:
- Understanding of incentives and constraints among a diverse set of organizations, and ability to utilize this information to achieve buy-in and delivery of challenging shared goals.
- Technical proficiency to enable relationships with Engineering teams and to exert technical influence over the management of risk, schedule, and scope.
- Ability and willingness to engage on controversial issues and persist in maintaining rapid progress.
- Ability to foster strong relationships with demanding stakeholders in a dynamic environment, navigating needs and driving alignment.
- Ability to clearly articulate thoughts to a variety of audiences and to speak authoritatively and candidly to executive stakeholders.
About the job
The PSS Research team discovers and develops new capabilities for meeting the privacy, safety, and security (PSS) challenges faced by Google and its users.
In this role, you will enable, empower, and accelerate the incubation and go-to-market adoption of new Privacy, Safety and Security research innovation. You'll work closely with Product Management and Engineering partners, securing commitments from cross-product area executives, and accelerate and unblock prototype development workstreams.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive strategic, complex and cross-functional program portfolios, focused on privacy and security needs for Alphabet, aligned with organizational and company-level OKRs.
- Switch cadences between prototype incubation (open-ended fast iteration) and go-to-market delivery (fixed timelines and road maps).
- Manage and partner with senior cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., Product, Program, Security, Privacy and Engineering teams) across Alphabet, focusing on strategy, execution and risk management.
- Identify opportunities to improve program management processes and drive efficiencies. Represent program portfolios from a technical, business, program perspective to senior leadership.
- Communicate, collaborate, and negotiate with internal and external partners from requirements to impactful results. Influence process, policy, and technical implementations to scale programs and teams.
