UX Designer, Google Shopping

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years interaction/product design experience on consumer-facing products, mobile and desktop.
  • Experience designing and prototyping within Figma.
  • Experience using an iterative, user-centered design process.
  • Include a portfolio, website, or any other link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in commerce domain across both mobile and desktop UX.
  • Experience operating using a hypothesis-driven design approach.
  • Knowledge of the user-centered design methodologies, and an understanding of usability standard procedures and technical requirements and limitations.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally along with the ability to work in agile team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills along with communication skills, including storytelling.

In this role you will join the New Shopping Home team, working to reinvent how people use Google products in their shopping experiences: from finding the best price and discovering new merchants, to researching products and finding a perfect match, leveraging augmented reality, machine learning, computing, and generative AI.

Responsibilities

  • Define the user experience and user interface for the new Google Shopping experience, on mobile and desktop platforms, with creativity and developing new approaches.
  • Collaborate with other designers on the team, UX Researchers, Product Managers, Program Managers, Engineers and other UX teams.
  • Produce designs, including user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes from concept to execution, and communicate design intent to both internal and external teams.
  • Communicate design outlook and justify decisions, and advocate for users needs.
  • Understand GenAI products, technologies, user motivations, and market opportunities in order to incorporate technical and business requirements into design.
