Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience in product management or a related technical role.
  • 1 year experience in an investigative role like developing Machine Learning based products or Machine Learning based classification/ranking systems.
  • 1 year of experience taking technical consumer products from conception to launch.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a technology or a business related field.
  • 2 years of experience in a business function or role (e.g., marketing, business operations, consulting).
  • 2 years of experience in preparing and delivering technical presentations to executive leadership.
  • 2 years of experience working cross-functionally with engineering, UX/UI, and other stakeholders.
  • Experience with Trust and Safety (content moderation) and AI/ML fairness.

Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.

YouTube Trust and Safety’s goal is to keep our platform safe. Our team contributes by building AI/ML powered detection that works at scale. We are currently meeting our video safety goals but the platform is growing. We need to support rapid innovation by building and scaling safety and fairness capabilities for new Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) features.

In this role, you will deliver on safety and fairness goals for GenAI launches at YouTube across text, image, and video modalities. You will ensure new features are safe to launch via building detection that can be incorporated into any new feature to identify unsafe output. You will partner cross-functionally to improve model fairness.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $122,000-$178,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Partner with creative cross-functional teams looking to launch AI-based products.
  • Leverage Machine Learning and Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) to build detection systems with real world impact; test their performance, and iterate.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, feature, legal, policy, operations, UX and other teams to build systems to enable GenAI features.
  • Advocate for user safety and contribute to the development of best practices, policies orprocess for responsible AI development.
  • Be an expert on risk AI can introduce into a feature.
