About the job
People Operations strives to revolutionize human resources the same way that Google has revolutionized search. We are helping to find, grow and keep the remarkable assemblage of talent who are our Googlers. You'll be an advocate of Google's culture and values, partnering with our business leaders to help them build their organizations and make sure all people decisions are based on data. Whether coaching our clients on how to lead their teams, navigating and resolving employee relations issues or managing programs that help develop our Googlers, you are exceptionally focused on putting them first, and being as clear and transparent as possible to help Googlers understand how people decisions get made.
As an Organizational Development Practitioner, you will advise on and deliver Organization Development (OD) interventions and services aligned with PeopleDev Strategy and the business needs of the client. You will be responsible for consulting on and delivering solutions across product areas, partnering closely with respective PeopleDev Partners and Talent and Learning Practitioners to meet nuanced user needs.
To drive business impact, you will diagnose and provide rapid-response advisory services to address the product areas’ OD priorities and challenges. You will also lead one or more agile teams focused on critical organizational, developmental and/or workforce projects or programs (e.g., op model redesigns, talent development for critical roles). By designing, synthesizing and deriving insights from data and reports, identifying process improvement opportunities, and delivering end-to-end OD programs, your work will affect organizations and functions externally and at Google. You'll demonstrate how key talent, skills, attitudes, or knowledge can be developed.
Responsibilities
- Establish scope of engagement, diagnose opportunities, recommend OD solutions, and design and execute the solution to drive business outcomes in partnership with the PeopleDev Partners. OD solutions include but are not limited to change management, organization design, operating model design, strategy design, high performance teaming for senior leaders, and process design.
- Determine the best approach for design and delivery by leveraging internal and/or external expertise (vendors) and understanding of the business.
- Understand and represent user and business needs to PeopleDev Partners and People Partners.
- Oversee end-to-end design and implementation of innovative, timely, and high-quality organizational development solutions and services (through vendors, personally or with a combination of both).
- Synthesize and derive insights from data and repos to improve and make recommendations for HR and Talent projects (e.g., Job Architecture, and Performance).
