Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience working in media, entertainment, technology, business development, content acquisition/distribution, business affairs or legal roles.
  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
  • Experience negotiating media distribution agreements for linear,
    direct-to-consumer, transactional and ad-supported content.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or other advanced degree.
  • Experience working on cross-functional (e.g., legal, marketing, finance) teams, able to balance competing priorities and manage multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in maintaining an executive presence and delivering presentations to leadership both internally and externally, with the ability to structure, analyze, and solve business problems while delivering impact against business goals.
  • Experience working autonomously in an ever-changing, and collaborative environment.
  • Ability to be a thought leader, think strategically, develop an outlook and strategy, and inspire others to follow.
  • Ability to effectively balance short-term tactical and long-term goals as a partner manager.

About the job

The mission of the Media Partners team is to make YouTube the essential platform for viewing content from media partners by driving meaningful business and distribution. We are responsible for sourcing, discussing and closing distribution agreements with media and entertainment companies for YouTube’s subscription video businesses, as well as distributing ad-supported content across YouTube’s multiple formats and platforms to fuel those partners’ core businesses.

As Top Media Partnerships Lead, your primary responsibility will be to develop strategy, lead discussions, and manage partnerships with YouTube’s top media company partners. You will lead partnerships across multiple lines of business, including YouTube TV and Primetime Channels. You will work closely with YouTube’s Product, Engineering, Marketing, Strategy and Legal teams (among others) to resolve business issues, develop business strategies, inform product goals, and operationalize our plans through optimal structures.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $168,000-$249,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Discuss business agreements with media partners for distribution on YouTube across multiple lines of business.
  • Participate in all aspects of new business development, including sourcing, evaluating, drafting and discussing agreements, and managing executive-level partnerships.
  • Collaborate with teams across YouTube and Google to ensure execution of agreements and initiatives, representing our partners and our team.
  • Contribute to the refinement of YouTube’s strategy, including presentations for executive management and to the broader organization.
  • Engage with several internal cross-functional teams across multiple geographies to incubate, launch, improve, and scale new features and user experiences across markets and functional areas.
