Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in Partner Management or Business Development in the media and entertainment space or within other industries.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
  • Experience negotiating and executing agreements or managing external partnerships.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA, JD or equivalent advanced degree.
  • Experience in digital content distribution at a digital platform or media company.
  • Experience balancing numerous partners at various stages of complexity and maturity.
  • Experience working with internal and external stakeholders, including product teams, and engaging with leadership on sophisticated business issues with limited oversight.
  • Ability to grow in a fast-paced, fluid, and collaborative environment.
  • Excellent influencing skills.

About the job

As a Strategic Partner Development Manager, you'll open doors with potential partners, lead exploratory discussions and evaluate/develop business opportunities. You will lead cross-functional teams, provide thought leadership and serve as a mentor to managers and associates. You are comfortable escalating and presenting business development strategies and key issues to senior management. You'll work closely with Google Product, Engineering, Legal and Sales teams on new product initiatives and key strategic relationships that support our online advertising business.

In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting the growth of the Media and Entertainment (M&E) category across the Android ecosystem, including Google Play and Google TV. You will manage a portfolio of key M&E partners, driving strategic initiatives to expand content distribution, accelerate the adoption of key Google product features, and grow partner engagement and business generation across Google’s Platforms and Devices. You will need to build and maintain strong relationships with partners, developing and executing tailored strategic growth plans. This includes structuring and negotiating commercial distribution partnerships aligned with overarching M&E category goals. You will have an understanding of App-based platforms, the Connected TV ecosystem and the Android OS.

Additionally, you will collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams across Google, sharing deep partner expertise and best practices to identify and align on opportunities for top M&E partners.
The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $134,000-$196,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Support the growth of the media and entertainment category across the Android ecosystem by managing a portfolio of Media & Entertainment (M&E) partners to support distribution, accelerate adoption of key product features, and grow engagement and business growth across Platforms and Devices surfaces.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the Google Play and Google TV platforms, as well as other relevant Android platforms, including product integration requirements or policies.
  • Build relationships with and develop growth plans for partners.
  • Structure and negotiate innovative commercial distribution partnerships to advance overall M&E category goals across platforms.
  • Build deep partner expertise and share best practices internally and externally working with cross-functional teams to identify and align on opportunities for top M&E partners.
