Director, Risk and Compliance, Cloud Supply Chain Operations

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 15 years of experience consulting, influencing, advising, and communicating with senior and executive leaders
  • Supply Chain operations experience in a manufacturing or operations environment including Supply Chain Risk, regulatory compliance, or business continuity

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with global multi-dimensional regulatory compliance
  • Leadership experience in supply chain operations roles in global, product supply chains
  • Experience with senior stakeholder management, and ability to successfully influence, support agile decision making, and catalyze change across levels and organizational boundaries
  • Understanding of international trade regulations, customs compliance, and related legal frameworks
  • Creative problem-solving and effective communication skills, with strong business acumen
  • Track record of driving complex, multi-dimensional initiatives from inception through landing

About the job

As the Director, Risk and Compliance for Cloud Supply Chain Operations, you will be a critical thought partner to the supply chain leadership team, accountable and responsible for identifying, assessing, managing, and mitigating all types of risk, driving resilience and business continuity, and ensuring regulatory compliance across our supply chain network and operations. Your scope covers the entire supply chain and you will work to identify and mitigate potential risks while ensuring adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, including managing supplier compliance, conducting risk assessments, and implementing processes to maintain compliance across all stages of the supply chain, from sourcing raw materials to product delivery.

In this role, you will actively partner with cross-functional stakeholders across Google Cloud and in Alphabet corporate leadership to manage risk, derive insights, and drive impact. You are responsible for influencing strategy, developing scalable implementation plans, and partnering globally to ensure the success of the business.

This is a people manager role with multiple reports globally.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $237,000-$340,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Manage teams that are accountable for risk, resilience, and regulatory compliance across supply chain risk, asset management, trade compliance, product hardware regulatory compliance, dangerous goods handling, and supplier responsibility. 
  • Stay updated on relevant international and domestic regulations impacting the supply chain, including trade laws, customs regulations, environmental standards, labor laws. 
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations throughout the supply chain by implementing necessary procedures and documentation. 
  • Be a trusted partner to supply chain leadership on anticipating, mitigating, and managing risk across our global supply base, manufacturing and logistics partners, all our hardware products, global supply chain and fleet assets, and ensure regulatory compliance and mitigate business risks or disruption from existing or upcoming regulatory changes.
  • Develop supply chain risk, resilience, and compliance strategy and vision in partnership with supply chain leadership.
