Financial Analyst, Cloud Central Strategic Finance

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), consulting, or a related function, or an advanced degree.
  • Experience executing full-cycle FP&A functions including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and modeling within a multinational company setting.
  • Experience translating data and analyses into insights for cross-functional audiences.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience managing relationships and collaborating effectively with stakeholders.
  • Experience with SQL, advanced spreadsheets, or other data analysis tools to query and manage datasets.
  • Excellent investigative and high-priority thinking skills.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to work autonomously and deliver on multiple initiatives in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.

As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. Working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to take on big picture challenges.

As someone who knows the workings of the core Finance team inside and out, you'll lead individual projects to transform planning, tracking and control processes. You'll provide senior level management with insightful recommendations, planning and reporting support.

From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $113,000-$162,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Own a full life-cycle of key metrics, from collection, validation, data-driven recommendations consistency articulation, disclosure strategy by tracking and analyzing performers reporting.
  • Partner with Regulatory Affairs Finance, Legal and Economist teams by managing data requirements. Lead data scoping negotiations with stakeholders, execute extractions from financial systems, and prepare analyses to safeguard Google Cloud’s interests during regulatory proceedings.
  • Deliver actionable intelligence by analyzing industry trends, financial disclosures, and business activities. You will develop and present performer benchmarks and synthesize the findings into clear insights and recommendations for Cloud leadership.
  • Identify and implement automation solutions for metrics reporting and regulatory data gathering. Empower to streamline workflows, improving both the efficiency and accuracy of our financial operations.
  • Provide critical, time-sensitive data analysis and verification in response to requests from leadership. Support agile, data-driven decision-making in a dynamic market.
