Sales Manager, Automotive (English, German)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 11 years of experience in advertising, consultative sales, business development, or IT, or 8 years of experience with an advanced degree.
  • Experience in managing and motivating teams, and coaching sales behaviors including C-level engagement.
  • Ability to communicate in English and German fluently, as this is a customer facing role that requires interaction with local stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in sales, media, or consulting, with the ability to manage high-performing teams, lead through ambiguity and influence executive stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Understanding of the automotive industry, digital advertising ecosystems (Search, Video, Display), and the agency landscape.
  • Ability to lead with a coaching-first mindset; adept at helping account executives navigate complexity and prioritize high-value activities in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to collaborate, capable of forging deep, trusted relationships across global sites and various teams (specifically in-country LCS teams) in short timeframes to drive unified goals.

In this role, you will lead the Automotive Pods. You will be at the helm of an industry undergoing a generational shift moving from traditional manufacturing to AI-driven, software-defined mobility. Your mission is to lead a high-performing team that positions Google as the primary strategic partner for the world’s largest automotive brands.

This role offers a bird’s eye view on the massive AI transformation occurring within one of the most critical and complex industries: automotive. You will manage the rapidly growing business across two pods, leading and coaching a high-performing sales team dedicated to navigating the intricate landscape of large automotive businesses and media agencies.

This role is unique because it requires leading teams to advise clients on Google's broad range of products across Search, video, mobile, Display, YouTube, Apps, and Google Marketing Platform (GMP), helping them connect instantly and seamlessly.

Google's Large Customer Sales (LCS) teams are strategic partners and industry thought leaders to the world's leading brands and agencies. We continuously challenge how customers think about their business and how Google can support growth. We focus on helping these players navigate profound industry shifts and drive outsized business performance by competitively selling Google's full suite of advertising solutions across Search, YouTube, Measurement, and more. As a member of our LCS team, you'll have the unique opportunity to sell at the forefront of technology, collaborating with executives, influencing market-shaping strategies, and delivering tangible results that significantly impact major global businesses and drive the growth of Google.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver against business targets and KPIs for the Automotive pods. Develop and execute long-term regional business plans that align with the enterprise sector’s growth.
  • Manage, inspire, and coach a team of high-performing Googlers. Your goal is to evolve them into exceptional, competitive sellers and strategic advisors.
  • Cultivate and own C-level relationships with executive customers and global agency partners, and act as a trusted advisor for their digital roadmap.
  • Guide your team in navigating the intricate landscape of automotive decision-makers, overcoming conflicting interests to evoke meaningful change that enables them to grow their business and ours.
  • Oversee implementation, measurement, and recovery plans. Identify process improvements and scale best practices across local and international LCS teams. Analyze industry trends and data to build robust plans that maximize ROI for clients and incremental growth for Google.
