Senior Application Engineer, Strategic Sourcing, Silicon

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or other technical fields, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience working with Python.
  • 5 years of experience with implementing, customizing, or integrating third-party applications within business enterprise software.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related technical fields, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in business application development/implementation.
  • Experience with supply chain management, material planning, or a related operations role.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting, including advanced skills in SQL or similar database query languages, and data visualization tools.
  • Familiarity with scripting/programming languages (e.g., Python) for large-scale data manipulation and automation.
  • Knowledge of the software implementation lifecycle (e.g., analyze, design, build, test, implement, support).

About the job

You lead all aspects of web development, requirements gathering, software development, testing, documentation, training, implementation, ongoing support, and maintenance for both in-house and customer-facing web applications. You will work closely with a cross-functional team of Googlers using UI and functional specs/prototypes as input. You are empowered to act like an owner, take action and innovate to meet user and customer needs.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000-$229,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Partner with internal teams to define and implement solutions that improve internal business processes, including automating bespoke supply systems.
  • Identify, assess, estimate, and solve complex business challenges through automation within the silicon and hardware supply chain.
  • Develop, build, and deploy applications using various platforms and technologies to automate and optimize the supply chain.
  • Utilize industry leading software development practices including technical design, solution development, systems configuration, testing, and writing clean scalable code.
  • Identify opportunities for improving productivity and explore the applicability of emerging technologies, such as AI/ML, to the supply chain domain.
