Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of legal work experience in a law firm, government, or in house legal department.
  • Experience working as a paralegal, contracts manager or negotiator, or legal assistant.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with legal operations, such as process, systems and policies.
  • Ability to interpret legal documents, negotiate agreements and work with attorneys to complete agreements.
  • Excellent investigative skills, with the ability to review and organize numerous documents in complex legal matters.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

As a member of the Legal Contracts team, you review and revise agreements, often managing many at a time. You develop practical and innovative ways to meet Google's needs, keep the team running smoothly and keep the company growing. You are collaborative, ready to partner in initiatives that influence all aspects of the business and work with Googlers from all over the company. As an integrated part of the team, you assess legal risks and advise on issues that will not only move information into the 21st century, but move information law forward as well.

Our Technical Infrastructure legal group manages legal review for issues and commercial transactions relating to Google’s global network acquisition, hardware platforms, and data center maintenance and operations. Technical Infrastructure builds the hardware and systems that power Google’s services, meaning that you will be exposed to every department throughout Google. You will advise our business clients on the various legal risks, business strategies and other issues related to commercial agreements, and you will also assist with the continuous development of the commercial team and its processes. Diligent and proactive, you bring excellent business judgment and strategic thinking, along with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fluid team environment.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $129,000-$187,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Create and manage procedures and structures to efficiently manage high volumes of inbound agreements, orders and Statement of Work (SOWs).
  • Review, draft and negotiate commercial and services agreements, licenses and SOWs.
  • Advise business clients on the legal issues and risks, complex agreement structures, approval processes, company policies and procedures and ensure compliance with Google’s policies and risk tolerance.
  • Respond promptly to legal requests from business clients, summarizing and communicating legal concepts that business clients can use.
