Senior UX Writer and Content Designer, Cloud

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience in writing, editorial, marketing, UX writing, content design, or related, as well as leading content strategy projects.
  • Experience on UX-focused product writing and shaping content for multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in writing, editorial, marketing, or UX writing in an agency setting and interacting with executive leadership.
  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional technology organization.
  • Experience delivering content design, information architecture, or UX writing for enterprise products.
  • Experience in managing large projects, collaborating with cross-functional partners, and communicating design decisions.
  • Knowledge of cloud technology and related products, including cloud computing.

As a UX writer, you are an advocate for Google design, shaping product experiences by creating useful, meaningful text that helps users complete tasks. You help set the vision for content and drive cohesive product narratives across multiple platforms and touch points. As a stellar writer, your portfolio of work demonstrates content that simplifies and beautifies the overall user experience. You work with people in a variety of UX design-related jobs including researchers, product managers, engineers, marketing and customer operations. Collaborating with each, you strive to establish cohesive language and a unified voice across products and platforms. You regularly use empathy, logic and data to inform content choices and recommendations that include the right words and sometimes complementary data and images.

In this role, you design helpful, human, and information-rich product experiences that help users accomplish their goals. Understanding cloud technology, user motivations, market opportunities, and business needs, you define the role content plays across a wide range of enterprise and customer use cases. You will collaborate with UX designers and researchers, product managers, engineers, and technical writers to conduct content audits, identify opportunities, define requirements, develop taxonomies, align stakeholders, and deliver holistic solutions. Through content design, information architecture, and UX writing, you will make Google Cloud easy to use and understand.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $134,000-$198,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Drive content strategy across a program or domain to solve user, product, and business problems.
  • Deliver innovative content design and information architecture to facilitate user interaction, navigation, and understanding. 
  • Write interface text to help users complete their tasks and to improve key business metrics.
  • Manage projects from inception to implementation; identify opportunities, influence priorities, set direction, communicate ideas, and oversee deliverables.
  • Collaborate with designers, researchers, product managers, engineers, technical writers and influence stakeholders and their feedback.
