Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 9 years of experience writing/debugging code in a general purpose coding language (e.g., Java, C, C++, Python, Shell, Go, JavaScript, or PowerCLI) and in virtualization
- Experience supporting customers in enterprise cloud solutions, including technical support, escalation management, consulting, and issue resolution.
- Experience in compute infrastructure, supporting, developing, and maintaining cloud solutions in virtualized environments.
- Experience configuring, managing, and troubleshooting VMware technologies (e.g., vSphere (ESXi, vCenter), vSAN, NSX-T, HCX).
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience running VMware solutions environment, including familiarity with VMware service operations: upgrading, implementing, migrating or supporting VMware environments using Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) or similar production best practices.
- Experience with IaaS solutions such as virtual machines and networks, on-premises/hybrid cloud computing, cloud identity and security models, cloud monitoring and logging, local and cloud storage.
- Experience with VMware platform / Tools: Horizon VDI, vRealize Automation, vRealize Operations, Site Recovery Manager, NSX Enterprise Features, NSX Load Balancer, SD-WAN, vCloud Suite,as well as third-party tools such as Veeam, Zerto, F5, Splunk, SolarWinds, TrendMicro and similar Backup/DR and application operations solutions.

As a Technical Solutions Engineer, you will be a trusted advisor to a various range of customers, from fast-growing startups to global enterprises. You will dive deep into complex technical challenges, troubleshoot critical issues across the Google Cloud platform, and provide expert solutions that help customers innovate with confidence. Responsibilities
- Assess customer impact and resolve escalations through effective diagnosis, troubleshooting, and remediation of VMware workloads on Google Cloud Platform products.
- Gather and analyze technical troubleshooting evidence, including packet traces (tcpdump), heap dumps, thread dumps, operating system statistics across network, memory, processing, and I/O systems to diagnose and resolve VMware deployments on Google Cloud Platform.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for internal stakeholders in engineering, sales, and customer experience, as well as external partners and customer organizations to overcome technical deployment obstacles and improve VMware on GCP.
- Collaborate with Site Reliability Engineering teams to drive high-quality production and respond to outages in order to minimize customer impact.
- Advocate for customer issues across cross-functional teams & contribute to Supportability Engineering initiatives spanning multiple product and engineering teams to improve product quality and reduce contact rate.
