Strategic Partner Development Principal Lead, Google Wallet

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking, or 8 years with advanced degree.
  • Experience in the Consumer Electronics, Auto, OEMs, Telecom, E-Commerce/Retail, Apps, Ads, Gaming, or Technology industries.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across multiple levels of management.
  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Understanding of navigating complex matrixed organizations and driving issues to resolution with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to negotiate and structure contracts, including complex and first of kind deals, interpret legal documents, and work with legal to sign and close agreements.
  • Ability to manage complex partners to drive growth and partnership success, proactively uncover new strategies or alternatives, and effectively influence product and engineering counterparts.
  • Excellent communication skills to formulate and articulate partner value, ecosystem knowledge and other strategies with partners and internal Google teams.
  • Comfort and agility in fast-paced, collaborative, and ambiguous start-up like environments.

About the job

As a Strategic Partner Development Manager, you'll open doors with potential partners, lead exploratory discussions and evaluate/develop business opportunities. You will lead cross-functional teams, provide thought leadership and serve as a mentor to managers and associates. You are comfortable escalating and presenting business development strategies and key issues to senior management. You'll work closely with Google Product, Engineering, Legal and Sales teams on new product initiatives and key strategic relationships that support our online advertising business.

We’re focused on realizing this vision by becoming a differentiated and essential part of daily life, both online and offline, and across surfaces. The team is responsible for product and growth partnerships that enable Wallet's many use cases (transit, loyalty, health, digital identity, and more) for Google users globally.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $177,000-$256,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead business development and go-to-market efforts that help scale the Google Wallet product and ecosystem. 
  • Source, negotiate, and maintain strategic partnerships to meet Wallet & Payments product goals, managing everything from initial prospecting, incubating new partnership programs, managing existing relationships, and long-term relationship growth.
  • Develop and execute on go-to-market strategies with ambitious goals to establish emerging products and first-of-kind partnerships, including prospecting for new opportunities, conducting partner/industry research, and collaborating on product strategy.
  • Drive successful agreement integration by pitching to partners, finalizing agreements, executing account plans, and advocating for partner needs to resolve complex issues.
  • Collaborate effectively with teams across the organization (Product, Engineering, Legal, and other cross-functional teams) and across regions to align resources and direction for go-to-market strategy and/or partner initiatives.
