Business Data Scientist, Subscriptions and Customer Growth (English, Spanish)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Statistics, Engineering, Sciences, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis, or a PhD degree.
  • Ability to communicate in English and Spanish fluently to interact with local stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • PhD in Statistics or a related quantitative field.
  • 3 years of experience in data science or product analytics, with driving user growth in consumer facing products or services.
  • Experience with statistical data analysis such as generalized linear models, multivariate analysis, clustering/segmentation and sampling methods.
  • Experience with R or Python for statistical analysis and data visualization.
  • Excellent SQL skills with the ability to write queries, extract data from various sources, and perform in-depth analysis.

About the job

The Subscriptions and Customer Growth Marketing drives consumer apps and subscription growth. We partner with product engineering and insights to understand the user and bring helpful products to market while deepening the consumer relationship.

In this role, you will be understanding and optimizing the usage and subscription lifecycle for products such as Gemini, Pay/Wallet, Shopping etc. You will leverage your strong SQL expertise and investigatice skills to uncover insights for owned and operated channels (e.g., HPP, Email, Notifications), drive data-informed decisions, and enhance user engagement and retention. You will be a key player in a data-motivated approach to user acquisition, engagement, and retention. You will dive into the user and subscriber behavior, leveraging your SQL expertise to uncover insights that promote growth initiatives. You will go beyond traditional marketing analytics. You will be at the forefront of experimentation, testing and refining strategies to optimize the user journey.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of user and subscriber behavior, identify trends, and uncover insights that drive product improvements and marketing strategies.
  • Create informative reports and dashboards to track key usage metrics and communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement A/B tests to evaluate the impact of product changes on business outcomes.
  • Build models to predict user churn, identify at-risk subscribers, and forecast future user trends.
  • Work with product managers, marketers, and engineers to translate data insights into recommendations.
