Product Strategy and Operations Lead, YouTube Strategic Analytics

Minimum qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience in management consulting, product management and strategy, or analytics in a technology company.
  • Experience working with and analyzing data, and managing multiple projects.
  • Experience with R, SQL, spreadsheets, or similar analytics tools.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Advanced degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience working for or presenting to executive leadership.
  • Ability to prioritize in a high stakes, evolving environment.
  • Ability in developing and understanding data strategies to meet dynamic business needs.
  • Ability to translate analysis results in business recommendations, with excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analysis and business judgment skills.

Product and Business Strategy Leaders bring together teams across Google’s functions to help products execute optimally. Our team pushes Google to scale at key points that refine our products and infrastructure by executing efficiently, bringing solid business sense and sound judgment, and working effectively across organizational lines.

Our roles often include components of strategy (e.g. analyzing and understanding new trends in the industry, building business plans), operations (e.g. running the cadence of organizations, connecting the operating lines between our functions), and communications. Our team partners with senior leadership to run important functions that cross-cut our existing organizations and deliver high impact projects. We help Engineers, PMs, UX, and all of our other functions to build amazing products that delight our users, and then get those products into their hands.

The YouTube Claims Council is a high-impact team responsible for ensuring that YouTube's story is told accurately and effectively in executive communications, legal and regulatory filings, and public policy initiatives. As a Data Strategist, you will play a key role in shaping how YouTube's data is used to inform and influence critical conversations.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $144,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Become a YouTube data expert. Develop an understanding of YouTube's vast data landscape, spanning all products and teams.
  • Support key Legal and Regulatory requests for data, influencing outcomes of legal proceedings for YouTube and Google. Support other data requests for Executive Communications and Global Affairs and Public Policy teams.
  • Leverage problem-solving skills to extract meaningful insights from data and translate them into narratives that resonate with audiences.
  • Utilize our internal Generative AI tools to develop innovative solutions for generating insights, identifying trends, and advising YouTube's leadership team on emerging issues.
  • Play a key role in evolving our data strategy, including defining data sharing policies, establishing best practices, and collaborating with analysts across YouTube.
