Acoustic Engineer, Consumer Electronics, Hearables

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in acoustic design and execution on consumer electronic products.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • 6 years of experience leading acoustic design and execution for consumer electronics.
  • Experience in shipping acoustic solutions from product concept through production.
  • Experience leading acoustic solutions for mobile phone or related products.
  • Experience with acoustic test tools (SoundCheck, Klippel, Audio Precision, Polytec, etc.) and simulation tools (COMSOL, Ares, etc.).
  • Excellent cross-functional communication and collaboration skills, including translating technical trade-offs to customer impact, influencing product decisions, and navigating and resolving ambiguity.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$216,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead the acoustic architecture design and simulation in new consumer electronic hearable devices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional design, engineering, product, operations teams to achieve acoustic solutions balancing performance, space, cost, and user experience goals.
  • Collaborate with vendors and technology partners to scope new components and technologies.
  • Conduct acoustic simulations and lab testing of acoustic modules and products to validate performance.
  • Support module and product factories to define and guide assembly, test, failure analysis efforts.
